Florence
We will greet you at the Port of Livorno at 8.30 a.m. and after a scenic 90-minute ride through the Tuscan countryside you will experience the breath-taking beauty, charm and artistic marvels of Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance.
Your first stop will be Piazzale Michelangelo, a famous square with a magnificent panoramic view of Florence that has been depicted in countless postcards and snapshots.
Your tour continues to explore the city’s most important artistic treasures: Piazza Santa Croce, where you can get up close to the final resting place of many legendary Italian characters, including Galileo, Michelangelo and Machiavelli; Ponte Vecchio, Italy’s most famous and fascinating bridge; Piazza della Signoria, with Palazzo Vecchio overlooking the square and a copy of the statue of David welcoming you at its entrance; Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, the main church of Florence, with the world-famous dome engineered by Filippo Brunelleschi.
You may choose to have your lunch here or continue on to San Gimignano.
San Gimignano
You will spend the rest of the day sightseeing through the small walled medieval hill town of San Gimignano. Known as The Town of Fine Towers, it is famous for its feudal atmosphere and appearance and unique in the preservation of 14 towers.
Your tour concludes with a walk back to your minivan and a scenic return to Livorno and your ship.
